Haoren brought Lock Lock home last Sunday. She was adopted by Haoren from her ex-owner due to many reasons I guess as she wasn't in her best condition when she arrives. We wanted to name her 'Happy' initially but Haoren suggested that we continue with her actual name 'Lock Lock'. She is a 8 months old pure Shih Tzu with tricolor in black, white and dark brown combination. Her skin condition is critical with a lot of rashes and white flakes all over her body and some part of her body are almost bald as she is losing her hair.
She feels naked now
Getting used to her new home
We had no choice but to send her to the pet shop immediately to shave her hair off the entire body. Bought sulphur shampoo and some medication to treat her skin condition. Her skin is still reddish but she is recovering well. Now she has some attitude and behavior problem which needs constant training to tame her down. No doubt she is a very smart dog. It will be a couple of months before her hair grows back to a cute fluffy little dog.
She like to pose for camera

Hi! My Shihtzu is also loosing hair. She got chronic gastro and after her recovery her hair just didn't come back...A lot like your Lock lock. She has white scales (like dandruff) and the pink skin...
What medications did you give? Our vet has only prescribed Vitamin E and an Anti Fungal pill every 3 days.
Hi Nadia, we have a 15 year old Shih Tzu who had chronic skin lesions. He was on steroids multiple times and we tried everything. We discovered that he has a flea allergy. Seresto flea collar and bi-weekly medicated baths, at the groomer where they leave the medicated shampoo on the entire animal for 20 minutes, has completely stopped the problem. It has been three years now and he is still not having any skin issues. Also, Shih Tzu are prone to allergies. It seems like a lot of them are allergic to chicken. Good luck.
